A House Divided | Christian Gamer Bible Study

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, bondservant or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. 1 Corinthians 12:12-26

Is it ok if I yell out?

Why do so many Christian gamers refuse to be part of the bigger body of the Christian gaming community? Why, Why, WHY?!?!

None of us can do it all and we cannot do it alone. Period. Mic drop.

Sadly, each day they walk this streamer path alone. They have the vision, the calling, the passion, and the plan. They have the graphics, the logo, the equipment, and even the discord community. And nothing is going to stop them from reaching the lost. Which, by the way, is the goal – to reach the lost.

It isn’t all wrong. What is wrong is when they go it alone. Even when a path is laid out clear before them, they just have to do it their own way. “The eye doesn’t know my pain,” says the foot, “so I am going to go a different way!” All the while the eye has seen the stone in the path to avoid and is trying to warn the foot of impending danger.

“You don’t know me. I have a better idea! I have the sure fire way to reach others”

“I have the logo that just pops and I have the equipment!”

“I already have a discord community”

Have you ever considered that God is answering your prayer when he is sending folks to help? Remember the parable of the pastor who refused on (3) different occasions to be saved during a flood? He told each rescuer, don’t worry. God’s got me. The pastor ends up dying, finding himself in Heaven. So he asked God “What happened? I put my trust in you. I devoted my life to you. I prayed and prayed, and thought you would protect me. Why didn’t you come and save me?“ God responded, “What do you mean? I sent you two boats and a helicopter.“

“What do you mean why did you fail? I sent you a community and pathway.” Each streamer that does it alone is that pastor ignoring the help that God sent their way.

Some do join, get excited, might disagree on some minor topic, lose the energy, leave, and go back to their way walking alone. There are too many streamers that I have met the last 2 years that have stopped streaming. And it’s because they did not realize they were part of the Christian gaming body.

“A house divided against itself, cannot stand.” Abraham Lincoln

The Christian gaming community is a house divided and it will not stand.
