Believe, stand firm in, and share the gospel of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

In all you do, keep your language and attitude clean, and be honoring and glorifying unto God

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Deuteronomy 6:5

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Ephesians 4:29

Be a Christ-like example throughout our communities & hold one another accountable

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalm 19:14

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Morning Brew Community Belief Statement

This is a statement of belief that our community leaders stand on. We do not ask nor require members of the community to follow this belief statement. All are welcome in our community regardless of their beliefs and background.

God

There is only one God who is eternal, existing in three equally divine Persons (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit). God is all-powerful, our provider, comforter, and Creator of all things. He is all-knowing and without fault.

(Genesis 1:1John 1:11 Corinthians 8:62 Corinthians 13:14Isaiah 44:6Matthew 5:48Psalm 18:10)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, fully man, and fully God, and is completely sinless. He died as the sacrifice for our sins, was resurrected from the dead, and ascended back into Heaven. Through these great works, the blood of Jesus provided the only way of salvation for mankind.

(John 3:16Romans 5:8-10Colossians 1:13-23John 1:14-162 Corinthians 5:211 Peter 2: 21-25Matthew 24:30)

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. Through the Holy Spirit, we become aware of our need for Jesus Christ, and once we accept His salvation the Holy Spirit works within us, bringing us to repent and be transformed. The Holy Spirit equips and guides us to grow, learn, and become more like Christ.

(Acts 1:8, Romans 5:52 Corinthians 3:17John 16:7-13Galatians 5:16-151 Corinthians 12:1-31)

The Bible

The Bible is God’s written revelation to man, having been divinely inspired by God to be written by human hands. Scripture, being the infallible Word of God, is authoritative on how Christians are to live their lives, and presents an accurate account of the history of creation and mankind. Christians are called to follow the teachings of scripture and believe what it says.

(1 Thessalonians 2:13Hebrews 4:122 Timothy 3:14-17Matthew 5:17-19Psalm 19:7-11)

Mankind

People are equally made in the image of God and are given equal access to God through faith in Jesus Christ. All people are sinful and in need of our salvation that is only found in Jesus, and all people are offered this free gift of salvation by the grace of God.

(Genesis 1:27Psalm 8:3-6Isaiah 53:6aRomans 3:23Isaiah 59:1-2)

Salvation

Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but each person is responsible for their choice of accepting it or rejecting it. We can never earn salvation, nor can we make up for our sin on our own. We all need salvation which is only available through accepting and trusting Jesus Christ as your Saviour and being forgiven of your sins by the grace of God.

(Romans 6:23Ephesians 2:8-9John 14:6John 1:12Titus 3:5)
